Introduction
Ambient Labs Computing, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates FieldCAD. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect: (1) account information — the email address you sign in with, and, if you use "Continue with Google," the name and email address Google shares with us; (2) content you upload — photos of job sites and walls you capture or select for a project, and the project name and status you give it; (3) generated files — the measured surfaces, CAD exports (PDF, DXF, STEP, STL, GLB), and other files FieldCAD produces from your uploads; and (4) product analytics events, described in the Analytics section below. We do not request camera-roll, microphone, or location access — photo uploads use your browser's standard camera or file picker, and our server strips embedded photo metadata (including any GPS data your device may have recorded) when it processes an uploaded photo.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to provide and improve FieldCAD, communicate with you about your account or updates, maintain the security and integrity of the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Analytics
We use self-hosted Umami for product analytics and self-hosted GlitchTip for error reports, restricted to a fixed list of explicit product and marketing events (for example: account created, capture uploaded, export completed, page viewed). Umami is cookieless. Analytics event properties are filtered in code to exclude your email address, uploaded images, measurements, signed URLs, and document contents before they are sent, and page addresses are reported without query strings or project identifiers. Error reports include the error message, page address, and basic browser details. In the authenticated app, events and error reports are linked to a pseudonymous internal account identifier and a random per-tab identifier that is not stored in a cookie; they never include your email address or name. On our public marketing site, events use only the random per-tab identifier. Both services run on infrastructure operated by Ambient Labs, and this data is not shared with third parties. We do not sell your personal information.
Data Sharing
We share information only with the service providers who help us run FieldCAD, and only for that purpose: Supabase (authentication, database, and private file storage), Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, and Turnstile bot-protection on sign-in). Product analytics and error reports are handled by self-hosted Umami and GlitchTip and are not shared with third parties. When higher-tier photo-to-3D reconstruction is enabled for your account, the photos you upload for that reconstruction are also sent to Replicate, a third-party cloud-computing provider, which runs a licensed 3D-reconstruction model on our behalf and returns the resulting geometry to us; Replicate does not receive your account email or any other project data beyond the photos submitted for that reconstruction job. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your project photos, exports, or account data with any other party except as described here, when required by law, or with your consent.
Data Retention
We retain your account and project data — including uploaded photos, generated exports, and project metadata — for as long as your account remains active. Deleting a project from within FieldCAD removes its uploaded photos and associated files from our active storage; a short operational backup window and standard application logs may retain residual copies briefly before they are cycled out. We have not yet set a specific retention period for inactive accounts or for analytics and error-report data held in our self-hosted Umami and GlitchTip instances; we have not yet configured a custom retention period for them.
Your Rights
You can export your own project data at any time using FieldCAD's built-in export feature (PDF, DXF, STEP, STL, or GLB). Depending on your location, you may also have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We are a Colorado, U.S.-based company; if you are contacting us from a jurisdiction with its own statutory privacy rights (for example the EU/UK GDPR or a U.S. state privacy law), tell us which rights you are exercising so we can respond appropriately — we have not yet completed a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction rights mapping.
Account Deletion
FieldCAD does not yet have a self-service, in-app "delete my account" control. To delete your account, email [email protected] from the email address on your account. We verify the request against that account and then manually delete your account and its projects, including uploaded photos and generated files, from our active storage. We do not currently commit to a fixed completion window for this manual process; contact us for status on a pending request. A short operational backup window and standard application logs may retain residual copies briefly after deletion. If you signed in with Google, deleting your FieldCAD account does not revoke FieldCAD's access to your Google Account — disconnect it separately from your Google Account settings. We plan to add a self-service, in-app deletion path; until then, this email process is the only way to delete your account.
Security
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit. Uploaded photos and project files are stored in access-controlled, private cloud storage that is not publicly readable, and database access is restricted per account using row-level security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim compliance with any specific security certification at this time.
Children's Privacy
FieldCAD is a professional tool built for finish-trade fieldwork and is not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
